Rain, Rain, Go Away....

Ugh, welcome to June in Pittsburgh. The oppressive humidity has hit with a vengeance and the
rain has let loose a few too many time over the last few days. This past Wednesday provided us with enough water to soak the earth through. Yet another bump in the road as the plumbing action must stop until the ground is not muddy any longer. It is about 82 at 10 AM today but it feels like 90. Unfortunately, thunderstorms are in the forecast and it sure feels like it is a major possibility. This is bad in two ways. First - the house is on hold...you think we would be used to this and just expect it...but we still get frustrated. Secondly, Alex is supposed to start his life guarding job tomorrow. He needs money badly so I hope he starts to get some hours in. If...(I don't like that word any longer either) the rain holds off, the plumbing should be done this week and framing starts next week. Of course, an inspection needs to take place prior to the framing so I expect we will not be moving forward for awhile. Do I sound pessimistic? Well I am. I am desperate so I am going to try this spell that I found on eHow. Don't you get your spells on eHow.com?

Stop the Rain With a Clear Sky Spell

1. Place 1 tbsp. of water in a small object, such as a bottle cap or small bowl. If possible, use actual rain water.
  • Step 2

Add one pinch of sea salt to the container and place the water in a windowsill or in a warm place in your home near a window where the water will evaporate. As you are adding the salt, imagine the salt evaporating the rain clouds from the sky, focusing all of your energy on the salt spell and say, "Salt of the Earth, salt of the sea, stop the rain I invoke thee."

  • Step 3

Leave the container in its place until the water has evaporated completely, and you shall have a rain-free day.

    1. I have a rain barrel full of rain if you need any... this will pass, the house will be built, we will celebrate.
