Diggin' the View

It was a pleasant surprise to see detour signs and road closure signs this morning. This is probably the only time in my life when I will utter these words. Yes, digging has commenced once more. The sidewalk in front of our house was crushed, chopped, and piled so I guess this means we will be hooked up to the water system soon. All these digging machines, crushed rocks, moved earth, and water lines are fantastic. That being said - I can't wait to go vertical. Hopefully by next week that is what we will see. For now, keep on digging and tapping away.
While all this nothingness was going on, Jeff a
nd I spent more time choosing new items that were needed in the house. We had to revise some of our lighting choices as they were either too long or too "tilted". The living room chandelier we chose was, well, tilted...we just thought it was a poorly taken photo...why would anyone want a tilted chandelier. We haven't found anything to replace that one yet. So we moved on to the vestibule and found a really cool light by Robert Abbey called "anemone". We also took the original vestibule light - a cylindrical metal tube with punch-outs - and decided to use them over the
island. It was too long for the vestibule but we loved it...so now we will have three. We also chose the color of the siding that we will use. Our brick is red and we decided to go with a cypress green siding. Our architect suggested it and we thought it would look great. Now on to finalizing the kitchen appliances.
