I went to Priory Fine Pastries to pick up some hot cross buns and Jeff's birthday apple pie. Since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to check out the progress of the concrete footer pour. As luck would have it, they were actually working (on a Saturday) mixing and pouring the concrete. I was able to climb the stairs that lead to Fineview and take some great photos of the work as well as a short "movie". My camera give me 32 whole seconds of recording capability. It is pretty grainy but it was something fun to show Jeff when he got home from work. There are five distinct plots of land and an outline of our courtyard. Not only that, I started to

imagine the view from our deck off the master bedroom and the rooftop deck. It is going to be spectacular! We may even be able to see the 4th of July fireworks from the Point. We noticed we had a clear view of the new Consol Energy Center that

will be opening in a few months. The Civic Arena (it will never be Mellon Arena to me) was visible as well. It will be strange to not see the igloo any longer once it is demolished. Jeff and I had great moments in that arena - of course we didn't know each other for most of them but that is beside the point. 20,000 dancing fools grooving to the Grateful Dead in the late 80's to Bruce Springsteen a couple of years ago...oh the memories ; ) Now I understand the first concert to happen at the Consol Energy Arena will be Lady Gaga...really? Well, at any rate, the view is wonderful and it was really cool to see the work going on.
